Teachers Wanted for Balloon Workshop!

Dates:  July 26–28, 2022

Location:  University of Wyoming

Registration Deadline:  June 3, 2022

For the first time in many years, the Wyoming Space Grant will be hosting a summer high-altitude balloon workshop for Wyoming teachers and educators! It is FREE to register and attend, however attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging. We are hoping to accommodate up to ~20 participants, so space may be limited. No prior ballooning experience required. However, we do hope to have a group of participants with varying degrees of ballooning experience.

In this workshop, participants will learn more about the Space Grant, our balloon program, and the various ballooning-related educational opportunities that we currently offer. Participants will engage in hands-on activities and open discussion throughout. To highlight the workshop, we will conduct an actual balloon flight that will carry participant-built payloads to near-space.

We also hope to include several other fun activities such as a planetarium show and campus tour. By attending, teachers will be able to earn up to 1.5 PTSB credits.
