Student Highlights: Cole Messa

Cole’s doctoral research focuses on utilizing isotope geochemistry (i.e., minor variations in a rock’s chemical signature) to answer questions regarding the formation and evolution of basaltic lava flows, a darkly-colored volcanic rock, associated with the Yellowstone supervolcano.

Student Highlights: Emily Davis

My research aims to understand black bear behavior, specifically by assessing their space use and habitat selection. We collared bears across four different study areas in Wyoming, which will help us evaluate how black bears select resources across the state.
