Student Presentations: Gabrielle Graham

One of our undergraduate research fellows, Gabrielle Graham, recent attended and presented a poster at the 243rd Meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) in New Orleans. Gabrielle is a senior at UW majoring in Astronomy & Astrophysics. Her poster was titled “Further Investigation of the Influence of Stellar Clusters on PAHs in Nearby Galaxies.” You can read her poster abstract here.

More than 3,500 astronomers, students, and educators were expected to attend this AAS meeting. Professional conferences like these are wonderful opportunities for students to share their own research with the wider scientific community. It is especially impressive to see undergraduates present their work. Way to go Gabrielle!

Gabrielle was awarded a Wyoming Space Grant undergraduate research fellowship for the 2023–24 school year. We are currently accepting applications for our 2024–25 Undergraduate Research Fellowships. These are due March 4, 2024. If you are a U.S. citizen and an undergraduate student at UW or one of Wyoming’s community colleges, you are eligible to apply. If awarded one of these fellowships, you too can have your research highlighted on this blog!

ABOUT STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS

Every year, we award fellowships to graduate and undergraduate students attending the University of Wyoming or one of Wyoming’s community colleges in order to provide them with the opportunity to do “real” research. Occasionally, we feature one of these students and their research on this blog. For more information about our student fellowships, visit our College Programs page.
