FY 2025 SOLICITATION

The R3 is a collaborative effort between NASA EPSCoR and the NASA Mission Directorate programs. The goals of R3 are to provide a streamlined method to address research issues important to NASA, and to enable NASA EPSCoR researchers to work with NASA to solve research issues impacting the agency’s programs/missions. It is anticipated that 25–30 awards of up to $125,000 each will be issued for one-year projects to address a subset of the NASA topics listed in the solicitation (p. 23–98). Each institution within an EPSCoR jurisdiction may submit up to three proposals and the proposals may come from one or multiple topic areas. All University of Wyoming proposals must be submitted through the Wyoming NASA EPSCoR office.

PRE-PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS

Because only three proposals can be submitted through our office, we are requesting that any faculty members interested in submitting a proposal first submit a Pre-Proposal through InfoReady identifying the Research Topic of Interest and a summary of how this research topic will be addressed. Pre-proposals were due December 13, 2024. The full proposal deadline is February 26, 2025.

All pre-proposals must include:

1. Cover Page — project title, research topic area, names and contact information for all PI/CoPIs
2. Project Summary (up to 3 pages) — proposed scientific plan and research activities, alignment with NASA research priorities
3. Estimated Budget
4. References

ELIGIBILITY

• Open to faculty members at the University of Wyoming
• Early career faculty, women, and members of underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply
• Faculty who have a current national-level NASA EPSCoR Research grant are not eligible to apply while their project is on-going

PROGRAM PARAMETERS

• Solicitation released annually
• Each EPSCoR jurisdiction may submit up to 3 separate proposals
• Maximum funding request per proposal is $125,000 to be expended over a one-year period of performance (POP)
• Cost sharing is NOT REQUIRED
