2017 total solar eclipse

The 2017 Solar Eclipse offers a very rare and immensely exciting opportunity for millions of people to view a total solar eclipse that will traverse the US from West to East.

NASA has funded an effort to conduct a live video stream of the eclipse from the upper atmosphere, something that has never been done before!

Students will conduct high altitude balloon (HAB) flights from around 25 locations across the 8/21/2017 total eclipse path, from Oregon to South Carolina, sending live video and images from near space to the NASA website.

The Wyoming Space Cowboys is one of these teams. We are made up of students from the robotics class at Casper College (taught and lead by Megan Graham) and two PhD students in Atmospheric Science from the University of Wyoming.
